So everyone has probably seen all the craziness going on at all of these town hall meetings regarding health care. They are apparently all over the place, from Philadelphia, Atlanta, St. Louis and Baltimore. Most of the meetings seem to have quite a few people lecturing their, congressman or senators or just yelling at them. Why is everyone screaming and getting all frustrated and what not? Maybe because support for government health care just keeps falling lower and lower, but their own representatives don't seem to be listening. Now commentators, anchors and the congressmen themselves plus anyone else who thinks they know more than we do go on and on about how how disrespectful and angry these people are.
Democratic leaders make it simple for everyone though by saying these people aren't real people. They are organized by insurance companies and other conservative groups to stir up trouble. Or the Speaker of the House just calls them un-American. Lets say that these people are organized by conservative groups, so what? Since when did people in a republic not have a right to organize to have their voice heard better? It doesn't seem to be working anyways.
That is the whole point. People are angry and frustrated at the process. They plainly tell their representatives they don't want government health care, but they get no acknowledgement, no opened ears and no sense of relief from their reps. Lets put it another way, when your boss takes you into his office to tell you that you're not doing your job, he might close the door, raise his voice and yell at you, especially if he has heard the excuses before. He doesn't want you to talk to just listen. The same thing is happening now, people are angry because our employees (we pay their salary) are not listening and they are not doing their jobs.
So maybe they should stop talking and just listen. People can be respectful at the town hall meetings but senators and congressmen should know who they work for and be respect of their bosses. Dennis Moore talkes as if being an elected representative makes him some kind of god and answerable to no one. Well you know what you do with an employee who doesn't do their job? You fire them.
